Inspire’s Annual Pajama Drive Record Breaking Year

Inspire’s 11th Annual Pajama Drive Record Breaking Year

Goshen, NY – March 19, 2018 – Each year Inspire hosts a Pajama Drive for children in our community that have never had their own pair of pajamas. This year was Inspire’s record breaking year with a total of 2,000 pajamas collected. Without all the support in our community this drive would not have been possible. Support ranged from local businesses, to agencies, to families, to an eight year old girl named Ella who hosted a sleepover party for her 8th birthday. In lieu of gifts, Ella asked her friends to bring a pair of pajamas for Inspire’s Pajama Drive. Ella then expanded her pajama drive by asking her family members to help her collect pajamas.

The drive was such a success that it was able to expand beyond Orange County to community members in Sullivan and Dutchess County. The pajamas collected this year were distributed by our Day Hab Without Walls participants to ABCD School of Middletown, Access: Supports for Living, Boys & Girls Club, Braeside Camp, Catholic Charities, Cornerstone Family Healthcare, HONOR ehg, Inspire, Mental Health Association, Safe Homes of Orange County, The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie, HRHCare Health Center, and more!

“It is very special to see our community come together for children who are in need of a new pair of pajamas. This year has been our biggest year yet with a record breaking amount of 2,000 pajamas,” said Marcel Martino, President & CEO of Inspire.

In addition to hosting this inspiring pajama drive every year, Inspire educates the public about disability, provides intervention and resources, and creates programs and services that respond to the unmet needs of individuals with disabilities in our community.
