Title Special Education Teacher

Job Information

We currently have a full time Special Education Teacher position in our Newburgh preschool. The Teacher will instruct special education students in a classroom setting, prepare lesson plans and instructional materials designed to meet needs of individual students and evaluate and monitor student’s performance.

Responsibilities include conducting educational evaluations/screenings on children, developing and implementing daily lesson plans consistent with each child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and providing indirect consultative services when appropriate. May provide home services to student when appropriate. Responsible for supervision and classroom training of Teacher’s Aides.

Must have MS/BS in Special Education and New York State Certification in Special Education (B-2) or BA/BS with teacher license working toward master’s degree.

Must be able to work with children with differing degrees of functioning. Be professional in appearance, attire, attitude and communication, Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment; or work independently without close supervision, Ability to communicate effectively with others using oral and written methods and remain calm and exercise sound judgment when engaged in crisis intervention.

This is a full time school year position which includes a six week summer session in July

Title Teacher’s Aide

We are currently recruiting full time & part time teacher’s aides for our Inspire Kids preschool located in Newburgh, NY.

Teacher’s aides are responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in the general supervision and maintenance of a class of preschool children. Responsibilities include consulting with the teacher upon arrival as to the day’s activities, setting up materials and classroom areas at appropriate times, and assisting children to participate/ complete activities, assisting with arrival/ departure, toileting, snack/lunch and playground routines. Will also assist in maintaining a safe environment and ensuring the safety of all children within the program.
This position follows a school calendar year including a six week summer session beginning in July.
Experience working with developmentally disabled population preferred. High school diploma required.

We are looking for a full time Physical Therapist to provide therapy for children enrolled in our special education preschool program in Goshen.  The Physical Therapist will have the opportunity to work with other therapists and special education teachers.

This position requires excellent communication and documentation skills, and an ability to work well within an open, fast-paced environment.

We are seeking energetic, caring and dependable individuals that will build relationships with the individuals we serve, both adults and children with developmental disabilities, to encourage independence and productivity, and a sense of community.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will be responsible for forming a strong, positive, and supportive relationship with the person participating in services and their support team. Services are delivered as determined by the individual’s Individualized Service Plan. DSP’s will be responsible for required documentation and depending on the service, may be working in the person’s home, in the community, and/or may be working with other DSPs providing community-based recreational activities.

Experience with direct care and/or developmental disabilities preferred.

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
