Title Registered Nurse

Job Information

The full time Registered Nurse will provide nursing and nursing supports for individuals participating in programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Duties may include providing individual nursing services to special education preschool students; and overseeing the coordination of medical services to individuals participating in developmental disabilities community and home-based programs, including novel individualized residential experiences.  Documentation consistent with program requirements, coordination of medical visits, supports and medication, and service-related travel required.

The successful applicant will hold a New York State license as a Registered Nurse, with two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in private, medical office or agency settings.

Experience with developmental disabilities or pediatric special care is preferred.  If you have knowledge of individual pediatric nursing services and supports including tube feeding, suctioning, adaptive positioning;   knowledge of medication management; and the ability to coordinate medical supports with primary and specialty physicians, you have the skills to be successful in this position.

This is a full time clinic year position with benefits including health insurance and paid time off.

The following part time positions are available in our Disability Services department:

Sunshine Kids Coordinator

The Coordinator will plan and implement the Sunshine Kids program. The Sunshine Kids program runs for 3 sessions during the summer for 35 hours per week.  Responsibilities include creating and implementing an activity calendar, requesting funds for the activities and planning and meeting with the staff prior to the program start.

 

Opportunities Coordinator

The Coordinator will plan, prepare, and implement 24 Opportunities social skills trainings and 12 community activities annually (about 5 hours/week). Will ensure each activity venue is handicapped accessible regardless of the number of participants.   Responsibilities include accurate and timely submission of activity reports, time sheets, time logs and activity receipts and any remaining funds and creating, changing and responding to the Opportunities Activity voice mail system.  Experience working with teens with developmental disabilities and teaching social skills preferred.

 

Saturday Respite Coordinator

The Coordinator will plan and implement the weekly Saturday Respite program for 6-8 hours/week. Responsibilities include organizing and creating weekly themed activities, requesting supplies for the activities, maintain accurate and timely submissions of activity reports, time sheets, time logs and activity receipts and any remaining funds, and creating, changing and responding to the Saturday Respite voice mail system

 

All the above positions require experience working with children and/or teens with developmental disabilities. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation also required.

Title Service Coordinator

We currently have an opening for full time Service Coordinator. The Service Coordinator provides case management services to eligible clients. Will interview prospective clients, on-site or off-site, to determine their eligibility and assess their needs, prepare all necessary forms, with client cooperation, to begin the eligibility process and follow procedures to ensure swift consideration by government agencies of the eligibility of the case. Additional responsibilities include act as the individual’s advocate before review committees, assist with the provision of services after eligibility determinations are complete and prepare records to ensure timely billing for services provided.

A Bachelor’s degree in Health or Human Services Field is required. One (1) year experience with individuals with a developmental disability OR Master’s degree in Health or Human Services field.

Title School Psychologist

We currently have an opening for a full time School Psychologist at our Inspire Kids preschool in Goshen, New York. The School Psychologist will provide clinical psychological services to the children and their families.

Responsibilities include evaluating the needs of newly enrolled students by performing a psycho-social evaluation and psychological testing of the student and the student’s family, providing services to students through play therapy and other modalities of treatment, providing family counseling to the families of students who have been identified by the CPSE as requiring this service, assisting families in accessing services from community agencies and participating as a team member for CPSE evaluations.

Candidates must have a Masters degree in Psychology AND New York State certification as a School Psychologist. Experience with evaluations and counseling preferably in an educational setting. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Title Substitute Teacher’s Aide

We are currently recruiting teacher’s aides, on a substitute basis, for our Inspire Kids preschool located in Newburgh, NY.

Teacher’s aides are responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in the general supervision and maintenance of a class of preschool children. Responsibilities include consulting with the teacher upon arrival as to the day’s activities, setting up materials and classroom areas at appropriate times, and assisting children to participate/ complete activities, assisting with arrival/ departure, toileting, snack/lunch and playground routines. Will also assist in maintaining a safe environment and ensuring the safety of all children within the program.
These positions are part time and on an as needed basis so flexibility with schedule is required.
Experience working with developmentally disabled population preferred. High school diploma required.

Title Direct Support Professional – FT & PT

We currently have the following Direct Support Professional (DSP) positions available:

  • Day Habilitation DSPs: Working in the community with individuals supporting them to achieve community integration and person-centered goals.
  • Community Habilitation DSPs: Part Time positions with day, evening and weekend hours available. Supporting individuals in the home and out in the community to achieve person-centered goals.
  • Wraparound Community Services (WCS) DSPs: Part time and full time positions, day, evening, and weekend hours available. This is an innovative program which provides intensive in-home and community supports for people with developmental disabilities and their caregivers.   • Respite DSPs: Part time positions, evening and weekend hours available to provide in-home support for individuals.

 

We are seeking energetic, caring and dependable individuals that will build relationships with the individuals we serve, both adults and children with developmental disabilities, to encourage independence and productivity, and a sense of community.

The DSP will be responsible for forming a strong, positive, and supportive relationship with the person participating in services and their support team. Services are delivered as determined by the individual’s Individualized Service Plan.  DSP’s will be responsible for required documentation and depending on the service, may be working in the person’s home, in the community, and/or may be working with other DSPs providing community-based recreational activities.

Experience with direct care and/or developmental disabilities preferred.

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
