Inspire Kids CPSE Evaluation Department provides evaluations for preschool children to assess functioning in cognitive, social-emotional, adaptive, motor and communication skills. Once Inspire receives a referral for evaluation from the school district, Inspire must schedule, conduct, and present on the results of the evaluations. These evaluations are conducted by psychologists, special education teachers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, audiologists, and/or teachers of students who are visually impaired. Not many people are aware that a classroom observation is a requirement of the evaluation process. Observing a child in their preschool allows the evaluation team to gain an in-depth look at how the child is functioning and applying their knowledge. “Selfishly, one of the most rewarding parts of my job, as the CPSE Coordinator, is hearing all of the compliments from the parents during the CPSE Initial Meeting. I particularly enjoy when a parent states that they tried some of the suggestions from the therapists and have seen progress in their child in the short time since coming to Inspire for the evaluations,” said Brian Gamzon.
